Uphill and downhill directions of the Fujinomiya Line
The biggest difference between the Fujinomiya Route and the other three routes is that the uphill and downhill directions of the Fujisannomiya Route are on the same route.
You can find the Mt. Fuji General Information Center at the 5th station of the Fujinomiya Line hiking trail entrance. There will be resident Fujinomiya City Tourism Association staff and Fuji climbing instructors here to provide every climber with necessary hiking trail information, weather information for the day, and mountain hut information. At the same time, mountaineering instructors can also provide mountaineering trail information in foreign languages.
There is a small shop (Fifth Station Rest House) at Fujinomiyaguchi 5th Station, which sells drinking water and basic mountaineering equipment. As for other more professional mountaineering equipment, you need to buy it at mountaineering equipment stores in Tokyo.
Location of paid restrooms: There are public restrooms at the 5th station at Fujinomiyaguchi, and there are also paid restrooms at mountain huts along the way.
After reaching the sixth station, the climbing route will split into two sides. On one side is the Hoei Trail, where you can climb to the top of Mount Fuji via the Gotemba Route. On the other side is the seventh station of the route to Fujinomiya, and then to the top of Mount Fuji.
After arriving at the 8th station, check into a mountain hut. If you experience any physical discomfort while staying at a mountain hut, you should seek assistance from the mountain hut staff.
Go up from the eighth station, pass through the torii gate, and you will reach Sengen Taisha Oku Palace, the main palace of Mount Fuji. If you want to go to the highest point of Mount Fuji - Kenmine, turn left after reaching the crater on the top of the mountain, and then walk for about 30 minutes to reach Kenmine.
Summarize
If you want to find a short and not too difficult route to climb Mount Fuji, the Fujinomiya Line is a good choice. Compared with other hiking routes, the Fujinomiya route has sufficient facilities. For example, rescue shelters and mountain huts can be easily found. Basically, as long as you prepare a complete set of climbing equipment, enough drinking water, and food, you can start climbing from the Fujinomiya route to the top of Mount Fuji.
